Star Field Boosts Sykes to Sherborne Scholarship

‘I just knew that I had to try. And I’m glad I did!’ Said Harry Sykes, as he recounted the support he received from Star Field Sports in helping him secure a scholarship in England. 

 

Prior to Harry completing his Junior School at Banda in Nairobi, he had applied for a cricket scholarship with Sherborne - one of England’s most vibrant independent schools that celebrates childhood through a broad and stimulating curriculum.

 

Sherborne School, located in the town of Sherborne, Dorset had some requirements though. Harry was asked to send video footage of his batting, bowling, fielding and a recommendation letter from his academy, Star Field. 

 

Those requirements were made easy by the team at Star Field who worked tirelessly to help the young man realize his dream. The 13-year old all-rounder met the criteria set by Sherborne and thanks to his coaches’ efforts, his scholarship was secured allowing him to join up with his new school in September 2021. 

 

While attending high school at Sherborne, he will enjoy similar opportunities to further progress his game in the school’s cricket age-group set up besides the chance to study at a good institution in the United Kingdom.

 

The scholarship provides Sykes with a major sigh of relief and allows him more time to focus on the most important thing at hand, his school work.
